With great pride we can announce that Andreas Veltrup has been officially added to the SPRO consultancy team from January 2009. Andreas Veltrup is a well known angler in the Norwegian fishing scene. As one of the longest serving fishing guides in Norway he has an incredible experience and never lasting enthusiasm for this challenging fishing style. Besides sea fishing, he is also a passionate fly angler.

From 1988 the Andreas visited Norway several times a year and he did not only get hooked on fishing, but also on the Norwegian nature and ‘lifestyle’. It was no surprise that Andreas left Germany and immigrated to Norway in 1994 were he started to work as a fishing guide with Andree’s Angelreizen. Here, he has set the basis for modern deep sea fishing in Middle-Norway.

With his boat MS Gisela, voted as best European fishing boat, Andreas fishes the Norwegian coastline searching for Leng and Halibut. Well known angler and fishing journalist, Rainer Korn, wrote the following about Andreas in the magazine ‘Kutter und Küste Nr. 25’: “Andreas and his MS Gisela vessel is thé choice when you want to fish for Leng from Hitra.”

Besides sports fishing, Andreas is also fisherman by profession. In winter, he fishes for cod in the Barentz sea and Lofoten, and in summer he fishes for goosefish in his local area. This long fishing experience and very good contacts with other fishermen have given him an enormous amount of knowledge that will be put into practice in product development for SPRO. Rainer Korn wrote in ‘‘Kutter und Küste’: “ Besides spectacular angling, Andreas assures a perfect atmosphere. This specialist is full of exciting ideas and goals!”

From 2006 onwards, Andreas has developed a workshop in which he shares his knowledge and Tips & Tricks with the joining anglers. We are proud to add this experienced and acknowledged angler to our consultancy team.

We have already started the development of the ‘Norway Expedition Range’ together with Andreas and it is great to work with him. His unlimited input is based on actual fishing practice to have anglers actually catching fish! We are looking forward to a long period of cooperation and product development.
